This weekend we are particularly excited about's participation in the Birmingham Pride Festival - with a float supported by Ageing Better in Birmingham.
Join InteGreat Theatre as they participate in this year's Birmingham Pride Festival - with an AMAZING float and performances by members of the drama group!
InteGreat Theatre is a Birmingham based drama group for both deaf and hearing people of any age to come together and explore their creativity. Their signed song translations are a chance for people to enjoy music in a new way. All drama sessions are conducted in speech and sign and are very visual and expressive.
InteGreat Theatre are the only theatre group in the UK that's accessible for both deaf and hearing people and members are keen on encouraging more people to join them. Angela Twigg, coordinator and director of InteGreat Theatre, started volunteering with a youth drama group back in 2001 – that she eventually started running then developed into what it is today.
This weekend, the group is creating an amazing float for the Birmingham Pride Parade on Saturday 25 May 2019, and with the support of Ageing Better in Birmingham they are hoping that the city's over 50s will take notice and start joining their weekly drama sessions.
Visit Birmingham Pride Festival this Saturday at 12pm to see the group in action on their float – where they will be performing a sample of a few songs from their show "The InteGREATEST Show" on at MAC on 16 June: https://macbirmingham.co.uk/event/the-integreatest-show
The group works to promote equality between the deaf and hearing communities and Ageing Better in Birmingham are proud to support the group.
There's also lots more activities made specifically for LGBT people aged over 50 in Birmingham who will be given priority entry (however this event is open to everyone). Check them out on our partner Birmingham LGBT's facebook page here: Birmingham LGBT Events during Pride Festival 2019
