Community Project Coordinator
Salary: £24,176 per annum
37 hours per week
Based in Tipton with regular travel across the West Midlands region
This job role is part funded by the National Lottery, through the Heritage Lottery Fund. The Heritage Lottery Fund invests money to help people across the UK explore, enjoy and protect the heritage they care about.
Groundwork West Midlands are looking for an enthusiastic Community Project Coordinator to take a leading role in 2 exciting projects; Every Step of The Way and Kick the Dust: Future Proof Parks. The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of their projects, from planning and delivery to management and reporting. You will need to have a broad understanding of, and interest in, community and health and wellbeing, along with effective administrative and organisational skills and an ability to prioritise your own work programme. Experience building capacity and resilience of volunteers is essential, alongside a positive attitude and desire to work as part of a team. Regular travel across the region is required for this role, so you must have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Every Step of the Way
A highly successful element of Birmingham’s citywide Ageing Better in Birmingham project which aims to reduce social isolation amongst older people. Every Step of the Way supports the Ageing Better in Birmingham ‘Age of Experience’ group, which helps shape the wider projects development. The role will involve facilitating and recruiting new members to the ‘Age of Experience Group’ as well as working closely with the funder to ensure that older people’s views are represented in the projects development.
Kick the Dust: Future Proof Parks
An exciting new HLF funded programme that aims to increase young people’s involvement in historic parks and heritage landscapes. As Community Project Coordinator, you will work with Friends of Parks / Heritage Spaces groups to give them the tools, encouragement, and support needed to get more young people involved in their groups, and to see the benefits of cross-generational working. This will involve consultation, needs assessments, training, capacity building and the planning and delivery of activities. The post holder will also manage a Youth Worker engaging and supporting young people within the project.
