There are many great opportunities to get involved with Ageing Better in Birmingham.
Start your own activity!
If you have an idea for an activity that you think will benefit people over 50 in your community, you can start an Ageing Better Group, which is basically a group of people who have decided to help and look out for people over 50 in their area.
Once you know what activity your Ageing Better Group would like to start, you can get additional support to help you start your new activity. Our Ageing Better Fund can help pay for start-up costs up to £2,000. Whether you are setting up a walking group, a learning class, a craft activity, a community event or something else, reaching out to people you know are lonely is an excellent and important first step. Once you've done that, contact a Main Hub who will be able to help you set up your Ageing Better Group.
